The DASTS Conference is right around the corner, as TiP and the IT University open the doors Thursday the 24th of May. The programme is now available so go check it out here.
The theme and title of the conference is Engaging the Data Moment, indicating a moment of collective reflection upon the digitalization and datafication of society. The ITU is proud to welcome DASTS18 under this thematic as it too navigates the challenges and opportunities presented by society’s drive towards the digital. As always, the DASTS conference theme is not exclusive, and we are looking forward to a broad range of discussions.
The Technologies in Practice Research Group (TiP) is organizing this year’s conference at the ITU. As host to a selection of nationally and internationally funded research projects around data, namely Data as Relation and VIRT-EU, TiP has become one of Denmark’ primary STS homes. This year’s conference has attracted a large contingent of international scholars and we are looking forward to facilitating conversations across national boundaries. It is this spirit of facilitation that has been the organizing principle behind the construction of our panels. Our aim has been to mix themes and institutional affiliations in order to enable new encounters between different STS interests, perspectives, and traditions.
